  This place is absolutely incredible. My buddy and I came for a 3-day fishing trip, and it exceeded every expectation. From the warm, family-style home-cooked meals to the world-class fishing, every detail was perfect. The hospitality and service are second to none—Ernest Hemingway himself would have loved it here. I’ll definitely be back. Truly unforgettable and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic fishing adventure. Oh, and on my very first fly cast, I landed a 40-pound tarpon on an 8 wt Sage—an experience I’ll never forget!

  This was combo fishing trip/Eco adventure vacation and this was the perfect place to be. The lodge is rich with history and charm. We enjoyed the sun porch to connect with other guests, Will, and the owners Mike and Marguerite both in the morning and again to share fishing stories in the evening before dinner. We fished with 2 guides - Mike and John, both providing us with excellent opportunities to catch tarpon, snook, bonefish, crevalle, snapper and cuda. It was successful fishing and fun days on the water. The lodges' location is central to river, backcountry and flats fishing. You can catch multiple species of fish on any given day. Breakfast and dinner are served family style on a gorgeous mahogany table and the meals are always top notch. I could go on forever about the breads and desserts. BRL set up Eco-tours for us to visit the Howler Monkey sanctuary, Crooked Tree Wildlife sanctuary, and 2 Archeological Sites - Altun Ha and Lamanai, They were wonderful tours only made better by the guide Erolyn, whom BRL had set up for us. Belize River Lodge is rich in history, and the people you encounter while staying there are welcoming, charming, knowledgeable and entertaining. We will definitely return.

  We stayed at the Long Caye Outpost the last week of November and it was epic, all-time trip. Maybe we just got lucky with the fishing as we were 10 days after tropical storm Sara, or to be honest, it was likely just our top notch guide John, aka Johnny. We had multiple grand slams which I think is tough for late November. And that includes Permit. And also got an 85lbs Tarpon! Wow. High five to Johnny. To brag a bit, my buddy and I are also the best fisherman I know on the planet, that helps :-)....The outpost was just what we wanted, QUIET. The food was fantastic, the staff was personal but gave us our space. They only really conversated when you took lead, which I really like. Fish, eat, sleep, X 6 days. The beds and rooms were good and there was a hot shower, which is a must of course. The furniture was solid and the deck made the cottage. There is literally just a cottage for for your group and then two small out buildings for the staff, which was 5, and it was just my buddy and I. Now that is living. Mike the owner of Belize River Lodge is a legend, you can just tell, even though we only spent an hour or so with him for the transfer from Belize River Lodge, to the Outpost. If your wife and kids are diehard fisherman, go the outpost, if not, go with the River Lodge. Either way, wonderful people, better than expected fishing, and great weather. I could see myself hitting this lodge(s) again for sure.

  Awesome place that exceeded our expectations. Everything, and everybody was great. We had a blast with our guide Mike Torres, who was terrific! Thank you for the great memories.

  My family and I just returned from an amazing adventure at Belize River Lodge. If you are looking for an authentic Belizean experience, world class tours and fishing, then please consider Belize River Lodge. Mike and Marguerite are excellent hosts.
