  Cohune Palms River Resort was a pleasant place to stay. It was a quiet place that is often visited by howler monkeys in the early morning and late afternoon, toucans, agouti, and lizards. Mike is a kind, gentle and peaceful individual who loves his place in the jungle and is willing to share his knowledge freely. The personal cook on site prepares a fine traditional meal and is so gracious. The rooms are quaint, simple and have exactly what was presented on the website. Our boys loved the rope swing and the river water was so warm. There is a nice bakery nearby for sweet treats. The Mayan ruins are just minutes away and the local market was full of fresh fruit and local wares that made for a fun day in the city.

  What a wonderful experience! We stayed at the Lodge in March 2020. Cabins were clean. The staff was fantastic. Melanie cooked up some if the tastiest homemade food we had during our entire vacation. Not to mention the location is perfect for those who enjoy to get off the beaten path. The tree swing into the river was a great way to cool off in the afternoon!

  A really great place and Mike is one of the nicest hosts we met in Belize. Lots of great stories and history. The rope swing is super fun and the river is clean and a great place to chill out. Only 15 min from town, it’s easy to get a cab directly to the Cabanas.

  This place is great! It is a small jungle resort. The food is awesome! We had great breakfasts and dinners each day/night we were there. The kids enjoyed the rope swing and swimming in the Mopan River. Great location to go see Mayan ruins. We highly recommend this place!
