  In short, our stay was amazing! I've gone through many words trying to explain Gladden to my family and friends; from epic to magical to paradise but have now landed on utopian. From start to finish, the trip was unbelievable. Both Gladden and Valley Stream were beautiful locations, although if I had to choose, Gladden would be my first choice. Upon arrival in Belize City, we waited in the customs lineup for almost 2 hours. Granted it was March Break, it was still two hours. Once we got through and met with Emilio, whom was amazing, we then felt like VIPs as he whisked us through security, back to the tarmac, and brought us to our helicopter. Edgar was a great pilot and addressed our concerns about flying. His take off and landings were as smooth as possible. Once we landed on the Gladden dock, we were greeted by Heraldo, Jaime, Jose, and JR with cold towels and drinks. What an amazing first impression. Heraldo was an amazing concierge and bartender and took care of our every need and want. His professionalism and attention to detail were top shelf. Jaime was great and personable and took care of both our rooms and bodies with her epic massages. Jose was a great boat-captain and took us out snorkeling to a few of his favorite spots along with two sunset cruises. And JR... his meals were Michelin Star worthy. And not just dinner but every meal, including breakfast and afternoon snacks. Upon arrival at Valley Stream, the first impressions were also great with Selvin, Rosa, Derrick, and Esa whom also had drinks and towels ready. The house was unbelievable. We didn't interact much with Rosa or Derrick, other than Rosa doing our laundry every day. Esa also prepared Michelin Star worthy meals. Selvin was great with his daily concoctions and drinks. We did two excursions - zip-lining and cave tubing and they were both great. Our driver/guide Axel and second guide Sam were perfect and knowledgeable. We didn't end up visiting the ruins of Xunantunich as the 1.5 hour drive there and back was too much for us and we only made a stop at the Lamanai Chocolate farm. Our departure was great, starting with our ride to the airport with Carlos. Emilio met us and whisked us through to our gate, which made us wish we had the same experience on the front end too. Not once did I think about the cost of the trip because money is only an issue in the absence of value. I would certainly return to Gladden with my family.

  Such a beautiful location and house. Their team is amazing and know how to perfectly draw the line between being attentive to their guests and giving them the privacy that they want. The Chef was top class, making amazing dishes for every meal. Can't say enough and would highly recommend!

  Gladden is astonishingly beautiful and provides the best island experience you could possibly ask for. Heraldo, Omar, Jose and Jamie are so kind, thoughtful, attentive, respectful, and warm, you won't even want to leave them at the end of your trip. They provide the best service I had have ever had on a vacation. Also, I didn't realize that the food was going to be a MAJOR highlight of the trip. Omar is a world-class chef, and he makes lobsters that the fisherman just caught that afternoon. This is the BEST and most relaxing ocean vacation I've ever had.

  One of the most amazing places in the world! The island was breathtaking , the water crystal clear, reefs were alive and colorful, the staff delightful and courteous and the food sumptuous! Wife and I take a " honeymoon trip " yearly, and this trip easily ranks in the top three. Can opt to never see another person besides your significant other for the week or choose all the way to a fulltime bartender/chef to never leave your side! Truly the island is yours, the world is your oyster at Gladden!

  My boyfriend and I returned for our second stay at Gladden Private Island at the end of June 2021. We had an incredible time. Everything was extraordinary--the accommodations, the service, the food, the snorkeling, the massages. Polly made sure that everything about our stay was exactly as we wanted. And she was a fantastic guide on our boating and snorkeling excursions. She is so knowledgeable about the area, the wildlife, and the conservation needs of the delicate environment. We learned so much from her. She's a treasure! Chef Omar made sure that we had wonderful meals of fresh fish and local produce. We had some unforgettable meals and tried many unique local flavors and spices. Jamie's massages were extra great. There's not a better way to wind down the day at sunset than a massage on the beach. Jose was a great boat captain and knew just where to take us near the reef for the best snorkeling. I will never forget the nurse shark and the starfish. We cannot wait to return to this most special place!
