::Rented car from Hertz at the international airport in Belize City after reading reviews for other agencies. Great service on pickup. I think this was the best decision. Compact Nisan SUV had about 23K miles, but it was in great shape with nothing more than bumper rush. AC ran as a champ and the car was outstanding during the 4 day rental. No issues whatsoever. Returning was easy. One thing to note is that gas price in Belize is about $6 a gallon, so for the 4 days we used $70 worth of gas. And yes, you got to keep your eyes open for the road bumps which are all over the roads in Belize. Very efficient way to control speed. Locals drive a little bit adventurous, but respect road rules and other traffic.

::We had a great experience with the team at Hertz Belize airport. They were flexible with our pick up time when our flight was changed, made sure we got an all wheel drive vehicle, and helped us check in the car quickly on the return. One staff member even gave us a speedy lift to the ferry terminal so we wouldn’t miss our boat to San Pedro. I highly recommend renting from Hertz!

::The team at Hertz was very congenial and got us on the road very quickly. We had two groups of people and two cars that we were renting with young kids running around. The chaos didn't phase the team at Hertz at all and we were on the road and on our way in no time. Very pleased with the experience.

::We were able to checked in and get on the road quickly, when we arrived. The staff at Hertz were very helpful and friendly. We received a newer SUV with a turbo diesel engine. We drove all over Belize and only needed to fill up once on our way to the airport. Car return was quick and friendly too. They don't take Amex at the moment, so I had to put the rental and the $1,000 deposit on another credit card. The $1,000 deposit was returned promptly after we returned the car. Insurance was included in the price, making it almost the same price as other car rental places.
