  My wife and I just spent one week with a group of 25 US educators. Prior to travel I wrote inquiring about tours to Caracol, a major Mayan site. The administrator, Roque Mai wrote promptly and arranged a guided tour, the best ever. We ate at Hill Spring and chef Angel, after hearing we were vegeterian always had a serving that complemented other sides. The very large pool is more like a water complex: two pools! facilities, and top shelf bar service. Rooms have all you expect state side: WiFi, streaming channels, fridge, microwave, great AC, beautiful mahogany doors. Since it sits on a small hill the views are epic and overall quiet but for squaking parrots at 5:00 p.m. for a few minutes. Frankly I would live here, but really, the staff is what makes all the difference.

  It's a very mediocre, motel-like hotel. The location is great, but everything else is basically just passable. Only stay here if you are not planning to spend anytime at your hotel, and you are basically using it for sleeping only.

  The location is great if you are not staying long. We were going to Tikal so the location was ideal as it is close to the Guatemalan border. The room was too large for the very small air conditioner. The room was hot and took about two days to cool. The beds were hard like rocks. The room had many broken furniture and handle fixtures. The paint and walls were cracking. The curtains are from 10 years ago. The sheets were tied in knots at the ends. The restaurant- stay away. Most of the menu items were not available and one person was taking orders.

  Everything about Rumors was perfect to me. I much preferred it to the more expensive hotel I stayed in in Belize City. The room was perfect. Soft, comfortable beds, blankets that aren't too hot or too cold (when you've got the A/C on), the staff were courteous and helpful at all times. The view was beautiful, the catwalk overlooking the jungle below was wonderful and always filled me with energy for the day. The pool was great to cool off in and sing karaoke at on Saturday night. If you're going to stay in San Ignacio, stay at this resort. They are worth every penny and offer as much as the more expensive hotels. I know I'll be back.

  Management is excellent! They are very helpful, and Elmer is one of the top tier Managers on staff! I love the pool and the food is good too. Good place for family. The beautiful scenery is awesome! Air-conditioned rooms with good wifi. They have great house keeping service with honest staff. They coordinated my birthday massage at the resort and local taxi service.
