::Great place for a family. Joseph and Jussef are amazing and know tons about the area, they can give you lots of recommendations on places to visit aside from tours. They know the best tours in the area and are very willing to help you book them. The have pickup from the airport which is nice, and they can also bring you back after your stay. We were there for three nights and we would definitely go back. There is a place called Lotus Love (I think) just outside the airport that sells bug spray and sunscreen as well as food/drinks/etc.

::Introduction: My wife and I recently enjoyed a phenomenal five-night stay at the Howler Monkey Resort, a family-operated jungle lodge nestled in the lush rainforests of Bermudian Landing Village, Belize. This review aims to share our delightful experience at this secluded gem. Location: Just a 30-minute drive from the Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport and 45 minutes from Belize City, the lodge is ideally situated for travelers seeking an authentic nature-based experience. Set on 20 acres of broadleaf riparian rainforest, the resort offers direct views of the Belize River and houses a diverse range of flora and fauna. Accommodation: Our cabin was air-conditioned and comfortably furnished, situated right by the river, providing breathtaking views and the soothing sounds of flowing water. The natural setting allowed for regular sightings of local wildlife, including monkeys, iguanas, and the elusive Agouti right from our doorstep. Service: From the moment Josef, one of the family's sons, greeted us at the airport, our experience was personalized and heartwarming. The family's hospitality was exceptional—carrying our bags, giving detailed tours of the property, and ensuring all our needs were met. The family not only served us delicious home-cooked meals—including breakfast, dinner, and by-request lunches—but also arranged and accompanied us on various excursions. Dining: The culinary experience was a highlight, with every meal prepared at home and bursting with local flavors. If you have the chance, hope for Mel's lemon meringue pie—a real treat after a day's adventures. Additionally, Jusef's skill at crafting a mean margarita added a delightful touch to our evenings, perfectly complementing the exquisite meals.s. Activities: Our adventures included cave tubing, ziplining, visiting Mayan ruins, birdwatching, and exclusive boat trips on the Belizean River. What made these excursions truly special was the intimacy and personalized attention we received, allowing us to immerse fully in each experience without the rush of larger tour groups. Overall Experience: The family's deep knowledge of Belize, combined with their genuine care and hospitality, made our stay at Howler Monkey Resort not just a vacation, but a memorable adventure into the heart of Belize. Their commitment to an authentic guest experience is commendable and appreciated. Conclusion: For those seeking a unique, intimate, and enriching jungle experience, Howler Monkey Resort is a perfect choice. We left feeling like family, already longing to return to this beautiful Belizean retreat. Recommendation: Highly recommended for travelers eager to connect with nature, explore local culture, and enjoy a serene yet adventurous getaway.

::This is hands down one of my favorite places I've stayed. The family who runs the place—Ed, Mel, Jusef, and Josef—made our visit unforgettable with their warm hospitality, making us feel completely at home. Each meal was prepared from scratch and delicious. Our river-view cabin provided daily sightings of birds, monkeys, and iguanas from the porch. They cater to small groups, so the tours and excursions were exclusive to us. We spent an incredible day snorkeling on their boat—Ed, with his lifelong experience in Belize, knew all the best spots. Croc sighting, cave tubing and the zoo, among other activities were all great too. Being the only guests during our stay made it feel like a private escape, all at a very affordable price. It's a far better value than what you'd typically find at a fancy resort. I couldn't recommend this place more highly for anyone seeking a getaway that's off the beaten path, where you can experience nature, learn about Belize, and relax.

::Very well run lodge with clean nice cabins, excellent A/C, good food, attentive staff and beautiful grounds. Ed, Mel, Yusef and Josef (sorry if I got the spelling wrong) make your stay very enjoyable. Whatever you need to know they'll help you figure it out. Fresh squeezed orange juice and fruit was a treat and authentic Belizean cuisine. We took two tours, a quiet boat tour conducted by Ed was a highlight of the stay. Yusef took us on the cave tubing tour and was a great guide who looked after us well without rushing us through. The lodge is right on a river so bring insect repellent. We highly recommend this lodge and these hosts.

::We spent two nights at the Howler Monkey Resort during our recent vacation to Belize. We had a wonderful time. It is so serene and relaxing. We loved listening to the birds, howler monkeys and sounds of the jungle. We were lucky enough to have a troop of monkeys pass through twice while we were there. It was so cool to watch them in the fig tree just off the main lodge's patio. We also spotted green parrots flying overhead and saw hummingbirds and a tanager as well as other birds. We enjoyed our quiet riverside cabin - it was rustic yet comfortable and had everything we needed. There are some walking trails through the jungle starting right off the resort property. The owners were so accommodating - the room we had reserved wasn't available, so they literally carried another bed over from another cabin for one of our sons. We enjoyed chatting with Mel, Ed and their sons and hearing their stories. And the food was such a pleasant surprise! They provided breakfast and dinner each day and it was AMAZING. We ate so well during our stay - breakfast was fresh squeezed juices, fresh fruit, fry jacks one day/banana pancakes another day and other sides like ham, eggs/sausage and coffee. Dinner was equally delicious - traditional Belizean dishes plus dessert. The portions were huge but we found a way to finish everything because it was SO good. This truly was the most relaxing, rejuvenating part of our Belize vacation and I highly recommend the Howler Monkey Resort to anyone visiting Belize.
