::I have had the pleasure to visit IZE on two opportunities. First in undergrad as part of a school group. Later as a personal trip with my wife and my in-laws. In both cases, IZE was excellent. If you're looking for a great opportunity to visit the little slice of heaven that is South Water Caye, I highly recommend IZE. They have great cabin options that are nestled in the mangroves right over the water. IZE's unique brand of working WITH the local ecosystem of the island is second to none and one worth celebrating. The staff is excellent, showing a true care for any guests. My trip had us snorkeling in crystal clear waters, visiting Frigate bird colonies, and getting a tour of some of local communities living on other local cayes. The food is good and I was always very satisfied after every meal for having gotten a real taste of local faire. If you're looking for the closest option to an "eco-lodge" style of travel in the cayes, I cannot recommend IZE enough!

::We regularly take a group of undergraduates to IZE to study coral reef ecology (once or twice a year, for 8-10 days). The experience is consistently amazing - lodging is great, food is delicious and the guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. There are a couple dorm-style rooms for the students, and multiple cabin options with private restrooms and a view towards the east where trade winds cool the cabin and blow away mosquitoes. All the staff without exception are friendly and attentive, cooking wonderful meals (including vegan/vegetarian friendly) and keeping the resort clean and welcoming. The guides take us out on boats to a large variety of sites; they know what to find and where, keep us safe and also educate us on human impacts and how to minimize them. There is a classroom filled with books to help with species ID and other research. Afternoon soccer/baseball tournaments are common, and the bar area is perfect for a sunset beer and a game at the pool table. Tourists frequently rent cabins and share the space with occasional school groups. This place is hard to leave!

::Great place, amazing staff and facilities. Its island life at it's best. The meals are hearty and made with care, usually with a local garifuna or creole flair. Exceptional and knowledgeable guides. The bar is wonderful, and a nice place to watch the setting sun. Rooms are hostel or cabana style usually with great views. The focus is on education regarding the SWC marine protection area. A classroom is available. Kayaking, snorkeling and sunbathing are available...
