The worst 5 star hotel we have ever had! We started at check-in with a lunch. It took us over 1.5 hours for two salads, although we were the only guests. Then we were finally able to enter the room after 3 p.m. On the terrace there was only one seat for two people. We had to request another one. For dinner we had ceviche and shrimp&avocado salbutes. Ceviche contained no fish and no avocado and the salbutes also came without avocado! Lapidary explanation after eating: it's not avocado season! After our protest, we got a 25% price reduction. Next day we bought fresh avocado on the market! Next disaster, the breakfast: 1x coffee or tea, 1 glass of juice and one meal from the menu. Everything else is chargeable. No bread, butter or jam (see photo, fruit plate was additionally 7.35 USD/pers). Second breakfast took 35 minutes, so we didn't really have time to enjoy before leaving. On the second afternoon it was not possible to relax at the hotel! A leaf blower of the hotel staff for one hour and a construction site besides made lots of noise. Only positive things to mention are the hotel garden and the cocktail bar! Swimming pool and the little garden area behind the rooms need restauration. You better drive around that hotel - then you do the right thing!

The resort itself is very nice and the staff are good. The cooking class was absolutely amazing and worth coming here just for that. Stayed in the balam suite and it left a lot to be desired so I removed two stars. We were supposed to have seating outside of the room, but it wasnt there and the staff "didn't know where it went"? The resort is very family friendly and I wasnt expecting it to be as filled with families as much as it was. Couldn't even enjoy the pool so many children were running around splashing wildly. No poolside service either.

Unfortunately our experience at Ka’Ana did not meet expectations in the slightest. First thing I noticed in our Casita Suite was a gaping hole in the patio door (which they did end up fixing). The patio had no loungers, hammock or other place to sit as depicted in the photos I had reviewed. Below there was a tub, but it was very dirty upon arrival with leaves and ants (and was never cleaned) so we didn’t use it. Below, next to the tub there was one filthy, dirty chair. The outside area is mostly dirt and the stones that lead from the outdoor shower to the stairs up to our room were also dirty so we didn’t use the outdoor shower as our feet would have been dirty. We were immediately told they would provide coffee at first, but any refills would be at our cost. The included breakfast includes only a few items that aren’t sufficient to prepare for a day of activities. This cheapened the whole experience and certainly didn’t feel “luxury”. We went to the pool and immediately noticed there were no towels. My husband notified staff, but they never arrived during the time we spent there. The pool shower was literally covered in leaves and was never cleaned during our stay. The food was mediocre and very expensive for what it was. There are very few kids options. We ate out a lot and it was really good and inexpensive in town. The wine list is expensive and not good. The wines by the glass were undrinkable and extremely expensive. Cocktails were tiny, weak and sweet. You’d get a different glass every time and they seemed to get smaller and smaller, never filled to the top. We only did this during happy hour because of this. At one point we went to the front desk to ask for a taxi to town. They all looked at me like I had 3 heads and said their only taxi was already reserved. We finally worked it out and got the name of a local driver to deal with our own transportation the remainder of the trip. Their excursions are double what we paid using a rental car and going on our own. Lastly, it was our 10 year anniversary. We noted this on the intake forms where they asked if we were celebrating anything, yet they never did anything special for us, let alone mention it. I mentioned this all to them via their non-public survey and no one responded. The staff is 10 out of 10. Kind, helpful and did all they could. We heard from two separate locals that management has changed and the place has gone downhill. Wish I had known that before we booked here to celebrate this milestone.

From the moment my wife and I arrived, we both felt welcomed. Literally, the moment we pulled up, the man who is at the front gate welcomed us and knew me by name. We were served refreshing welcome drinks along with cool scented towels. We stayed at the master suite and had our own private dunking pool and outdoor shower. The facilities were clean, the employees were helpful and friendly. The dinner we had here was amazing too! We ate the continental breakfast that was inclusive to our booking along with some additional breakfast burrito type thing (I forgot the name of it, but get one lol). They also has s’more kits and a fire going nightly. We both enjoyed having a sweet treat after a long day of adventures! 10/10 experience! I would stay here again!

Our family of four arrived at the resort Saturday, and we stayed three nights. We had two separate rooms, which were both beautiful. Every person working at the resort was extremely kind and helpful. They also gave us amazing recommendations for food and activities in the area. The rooms and resort were beautiful and very clean and housekeeping came by every night while we were at dinner to get our rooms ready for the next day. We had a delicious fresh breakfast each morning before we set off on our adventures for the day. The pool and outdoor shower was also amazing.
