::We loved our stay at the Maya Beach Hotel. We were so suprised that the beach had no sargassum. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and the ocean, kayaking, and watching TV when it rained. The restaurant is great for breakfast, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. I was really impressed with the breakfast parfait, quiche, and the Caesar salad. The service was already great, but they went above and beyond. I spilled coffee on the bed and it went all the way to the mattress protector. I was pretty worried about it, but the kind lady at the front desk and the gentleman who cleaned the bedding all reassured me with a smile.

::Potentially the worst (5 star hotel) you can stay at. It has everything there to be a great hotel, but it’s just not. Staff barely lift a finger Food is horrible Management is horrible It was just a horrible experience. Would not recommend.

::alright, went here for dinner. the menu looked really interesting, but was sub par. The night was saved by the incredible Rosie at the front desk. our resort was supposed to come pick us up but is unreachable by phone…. Rosie took the time to call them to confirm it wasn’t just our service since we’re from out of the country, and ordered us a cab. Not pleased with how the night went, being our first night in country and my partners birthday. The food was… meh. the deserts were amazing. Rosie is an amazing hospitality professional.

::“Flip-Flop Palace” rooms were comfortable, private and air conditioned. We stayed literally 20 yards from the waterfront across a groomed sandy beach. Pool was well maintained and rooms were clean. Relaxed atmosphere with an eager, friendly staff. Good cell signal and internet access. We felt safe and enjoyed walking in the area.

::We booked Maya Beach hotel last minute, while there wasn't a lot to choose from in the area, we were pleasantly surprised overall with our stay. We stayed in the Dreamsicle upper apartment. It was pretty basic but had everything we needed. I know this property is only managed by Maya Beach and not necessarily owned - but it would be worth updating the photos for this apartment. The couch in the lounge is no longer there and instead it is uncomfortable wicker furniture for four. The towels are also quite thin and it would be smart to move away from the cheap one-use soaps, but otherwise it was fine. Staff were great too and knew me by name. Only thing I'd advise [to staff] is to be cognizant of who is within ear shot when talking. We booked last minute because our prior stay was unsafe. When the front desk staff inquired into what happened, I gave them details. However they then immediately went to another colleague in the back to tell them about my conversation, unaware I, and anyone else in the gift shop, could hear them talking about my personal and rather stressful prior experience. This came across as unprofessional, when they could have easily waited to discuss my situation privately. But overall we had a good stay.
