  We had a lovely stay here in January for the first leg of our honeymoon. The rooms are spacious and clean - we had one overlooking the river, it was truly magical to hear and see the wildlife around us. The complimentary sugar scrub is a great touch. Decent sized pool to splash around and lounge around by was mainly empty whenever we used it. People and service was amazing - very friendly, available to help or just to chat to. Helpful service including washing our muddy shoes after an expedition. The shuttle drivers are very warm and welcoming, we thoroughly enjoyed chatting with them. Great location to enjoy the cave expeditions, go into town (via taxi service) for dinner, bird watching tour. Beware of the rocky road going into the hotel tho, it’s a somewhat uncomfortable few minutes. Food is okay - we had some good and bad meals. It’s nice to have nourishing breakfasts at the hotel before going on day trips and going into town to have dinner. Would 100% stay again! - hopefully to use one of the rooms with the balcony plunge pools that we sadly missed out on. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  Absolutely Incredible experience. The resort is an absolute Oasis, and the workers are incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and attentive. The rooms are beautiful, and the staff is ready to help with whatever we need. We felt like royalty from start to finish! The tours and activities they offer are INCREDIBLE. We did the Xunantunich/ Cahal Pech tour. Our guide, Augusto, was knowledgeable, so fun, and recommended the best lunch spot. We did the ATM tour and our guide(Fernando) and drivers (Darwin and Lilly I think?) were attentive, kind, and hilarious. We did the bird watching tour which was SO COOL. Our tour guide knew what each bird was and seemed genuinely excited with us to see the birds. (I don’t remember his name but he was phenomenal!) The complementary Kayaking was beautiful as well. Overall, we will definitely be coming back. There’s also trails that are on the property. They’re GORGEOUS. AND they have a full garden where they use the vegetables to make the food.

  If you want to experience the jungle, this is the place. Also a great access point for a day trip to Tikal. The staff are friendly and helpful. Resturaunt cooks food that is delicious and can fit any dietary requirements. Absolutely recommend 💯

  Beautiful place. We wanted to “see Belize”. We stayed at San Pedro and it was great. We went inland to Mystic River. Stayed right on river. Awesome. We are not big hikers, but I bet that part was great. The restaurant was great. You won’t miss “going out”. Service was absolutely first class.

  Review of Mystic River Resort Mystic River Resort is a slice of paradise! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Their warmth and attentiveness ensured that every moment of our stay was enjoyable. They went above and beyond to make sure we always had something exciting to do, whether it was exploring the grounds, joining tours, or just soaking in the beautiful surroundings. A highlight of our visit was meeting Oscar, one of the tour guides. He is phenomenal—knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and clearly passionate about the local environment. His expertise and engaging personality made every excursion unforgettable, especially the night tour, where we spotted fascinating wildlife like spiders and exotic birds. The rooms were absolutely stunning, blending modern comfort with rustic charm. Each one felt like a sanctuary, with large windows that brought the beauty of the outdoors inside. The resort’s setting, right on the river, is magical. Waking up to the sound of the water and seeing the lush greenery and animals all around was such a treat. The abundance of wildlife on the property was incredible—every walk felt like an adventure, and the connection to nature was unmatched. Mystic River Resort is the perfect blend of luxury, adventure, and serenity. I can’t recommend it enough for anyone looking to immerse themselves in nature without sacrificing comfort!
