::My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary last week at Tanager Rainforest Lodge in Belize, and it was an unforgettable experience. This was our first trip without family or at a crowded resort, so we weren’t sure what to expect, but Tanager exceeded all our hopes. Getting there was a breeze—three quick flights from Indianapolis to Punta Gorda, including a thrilling ride on a safe 14-seater prop plane with breathtaking views. We were warmly greeted at the airport by our guide, Steven, who drove us 25 minutes through stunning scenery to the lodge. The grounds are beautifully landscaped, and the staff’s kindness and fluency in English (a pleasant surprise!) made us feel right at home. We booked this trip through an online auction years ago, so the itinerary was a bit of a mystery, but it unfolded perfectly. Each morning started with a delicious, on-time breakfast served with smiles, followed by well-paced tours led by Steven. His knowledge of local birds, plants, and culture was remarkable, and every tour included a tasty lunch stop. We returned to the lodge by 1 or 2 PM, leaving plenty of time to relax, shower, and enjoy the serene surroundings. Evenings were a highlight, with dinners served by the wonderful Sarah. She offered us two choices each for appetizer, entrée, and dessert, and her warmth and attention to detail shone through—especially when she surprised us with anniversary decorations! The entire staff’s genuine care made every moment special. Tanager Rainforest Lodge is a gem for anyone seeking peace and adventure. Whether for a night or a week, we wholeheartedly recommend this magical place. Thank you, Tanager, for making our milestone anniversary so memorable! PS: Wifi was great too!

::On arrival to this slice of eco-paradise in Southern Belize, I was shown to a rustic, beautifully furnished, air-conditioned cabana surrounded by lovely grounds. A pleasant pool area and flavorful meals that were thoughtfully prepared added to my enjoyment of this quiet nature resort. The welcoming and accommodating staff were a highlight of my visit.

::We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights in 2 beautiful cabanas. The site is peaceful and we enjoyed he swimming pool and kayaking on the small river which winds around the site. We visited Lubaantun and the itz cacao chocolate factory both of which were interesting and amazing in their own way. Steve from the hotel was our guide and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. The staff were all lovely and helpful. The only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is based on the limited menu choices. Otherwise we would recommend this lodge.

::We had the pleasure of visiting Tanager over the past New Years holiday with the family and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The resort was situated away from the hustle and bustle of the city in an area of Belize with lush rain forest and ample wildlife. One of the highlights of the trip (and highly recommended experiences) was exploring a series of freshwater caves tucked away in the rain forest. That was a family adventure we will always remember. We also loved our visits to the Belize Spice Farm, Mrs. Yona's, and family snorkeling on the coral reefs (a must while visiting Belize). We do have to give a shout out to the staff at Tanager. They are the heartbeat of the resort and treated us like family while we were there. Mr. Steve - you are amazing and thank you for showing us around your amazing country. We can't wait to make a return trip! This time I'll bring my fly fishing gear to chase after that school of bonefish!

::This was one of the best vacations of my lifetime. From start to finish, the days were packed with fun and non-stop adventure. From snorkeling to walking on the Mayan ruins everything was amazing. The meals at the lodge were terrific and the customer service was top notch. Steve, the tour guide, was excellent, he knew about everything in the area and much much more. Cathy, the resort manager, was a breath of fresh air. Her customer service was top notch and very accommodating for any request that I had. If you just want to relax the pool or hike all day, this is the place for you. I would give more stars if I could.
