  Great place to stay. The Novelo is located on the south side of the airport in a relatively untouched part of the island. The room we had was one of the smaller ones but perfectly spacious for a couple for a few days. Hammock on the porch, comfy beds, nice bathroom, microwave, coffee machine, water provided, etc. The location is 15 mins walk from the port, and really quiet: all you can hear is the sea breeze in the palms and the distant roar of the breakers on the reef. Bikes are provided for use to get around the island (much cooler than the horrible diesel gold buggies). What really made the stay amazing was Abel, the owner. He was relaxed, intelligent, nice, and thoughtful. Impossible not to respect the man. We were sad to leave.

  Abel went above and beyond to ensure our stay had everything we could possibly need. The rooms were comfortable and quite. The Villa is a little out of town but means your away from the crowds it’s 20-25 min walk or we were provided with bikes to make it a lessurely 10 min ride. The surroundings are stunning including a dock that you can swim off with hammocks. Definitely recomend for a relaxing couple days on caye kauker 🤩

  Basic room but does have a small kitchen. Also just so people know there is no air-conditioning here and it is Belize. They did have plenty of fans and a pool. The owners are great. Unfortunately it's a long ways to the main area of Caye Caulker. So if you like to bike, walk or rent a golf cart this is a great economy place to stay. I would stay here again.

  Novelo is a charming, rustic, relaxing place to stay. It has a lovely outdoor swimming pool exclusively for Novelo guests. Native trees trunks and branches were used to fashion stands for the kitchen & bathroom sinks and counters and even in the stone-walled walk-in shower. Every room has a Mosaic fish or two in the floor. Some walls feature glass bottles embedded in stucco for a diffused source of natural light. Very unique place for a quiet stay, far from the madding crowd. But close enough that a 10-minute bike ride gets you to town with its stores, restaurants, bars, beaches, dive shops, etc. The very best feature of Novelo though is Abel, the owner! A native Belizean, Abel is extremely friendly & informative and made us feel at home. He took my sons out to experience Caye Caulker nightlife when I was too tired. He even volunteered to drive me around town when I injured myself and couldn't walk. In short, Abel is an awesome host who made our stay in Caye Caulker very memorable and a wonderful introduction to Belize.

  Abel is a wonderful host. Loved the secluded location away from the activity of the village. Abel provides bicycles free of charge for the short ride into the village. Loved the private dock and beach. A wonderful alternative to the traditional hotel.
