  Update (1yr later): You have to visit to check when things arrive, but if you have something important coming you can leave your contact info and they'll try to let you know. You can mail letters to the states for less than 50 cents Belize. To send things here, address them to Placencia Post Office, Placencia Village, Stann Creek, Belize, Central America. Have received everything mailed so far, and friendly service now that we're known to the staff. Original: Off to a bad start. Moved here three weeks ago. Visited the post office to learn how to send mail here as Placencia doesn't have street addresses. The employee wasn't interest in helping, and didn't even look up at us. She said to "just mail it here," but when we asked for more details, she repeated that we "just mail it here." So let this review serve as an informative post as well: mail things to the post office in Placencia. You won't know when it gets there, and they don't deliver it to your home, and you can't ask them questions, but maybe your mail will arrive if you "just mail it" here? I recommend that you have someone test this with a simple letter before you attempt to mail anything important.
