  I loved my time here - it was a true getaway from my busy life. Peace and tranquility...and fun when I was up for it. The home itself is an artistic masterpiece. Such beautiful wood detailing, stained glass was amazing, and the breezy kitchen made spending time just relaxing at the house a delight. The pier off the beach was my favorite part. You can drop right into your meditation, sitting under the palapa out on the water. Bring a book, some coffee and the time will fly. My days were flying by and I can't list too many actual activities I did, lol. The house's manager was available at all times via a cell phone I was provided upon arrival. She was super sweet and helpful in helping me decide what trips i wanted to take or if simply needed something at the house. Really amazing time and I cant wait to come back soon.

  Nestled in a quiet bay south of Hopkins, this is a perfect getaway for those that just need to hit the reset button. There is a private beach and a pier they've built that juts out into the sea and has two wooden Adirondack chairs under a palapa roof. The shade and the waves all around made it the best spot for us to enjoy our coffee in the morning or read our books or to do yoga on. The house itself is a work of art with gorgeous craftsman style details, beautiful wood used throughout, stained glass inclusions, a nice breezy kitchen, and a shower made of stone. Pictures don't do it justice. Oh and I'm a traveler who wants to research the bed before deciding on a room. Well this bed was supportive and comfortable. Nice quality sheets too. Hopkins is a very cool little town with a great community. All the snorkeling and diving you could want within reach. The host was super accommodating and helpful for any questions we had.

  our stay at The Shallow Bay Beach House was nothing less of fabulous. We stayed in the unit on the top - amazing views, super-moon viewing, quiet and sun all day (morning and early evening). Rita (the owner) was amazing, easy and quick to communicate with and had everything in place you could think of to just feel at home the moment you walk in! We both ate in and out at local spots - breakfast in the early morning to watch the sunrise was our favourite though! If you're looking for a place just off the beaten path, right on the water and lots of living space, this is the place for you! Make sure to have a rental car though so you can get around and explore Hopkins, Palencia and other neighbouring areas! The locals are amazing and of the most friendly people we've met while travelling the world! When we were there, it was breezy (no complaints because it was very hot) off the water all day/night. So easy to get burnt in the sun - make sure to sunscreen! and no real need for air conditioner / open the doors for screens for a great cross-breeze. We'll definitely be back!

  I stayed in this beach house for several days and I was always amazed at the views in the morning, the liveliness of the natural world and the calming seas. I am a person who loves to be near the water and the constant view was nourishing. The grounds are well maintained, the home is well stocked so you can live your life on your own terms while on vacation. A very relaxing destination.

  Shallow Bay is a beautiful relaxing place to go and get away from it all while still being close enough to amenities and entertainment. My 7 year old daughter and I stayed here for 2 weeks while on our stay In Hopkins and she didn't want to leave, ever! And the view is unbelievable! There are no words to describe how breathtaking the ocean view is! I would recommend Shallow Bay anyday!
