  In 2016 I purchased a property through Belize Sotheby’s International Realty. My agent, Kristin Fisher did a fantastic job for me. Kristin was very helpful every step of the way, through what can be a lengthy and at times a stressful process. This was a challenging process for several reasons, primarily due to a seller who was in another country and difficult to communicate with. To be honest, there may have been some questionable practices at Sotheby’s Belize in the past, but it is now under new management, with an upgraded team and revised policies. I believe that the poor reviews on google are very much reflective of the old team. The current team seems to be very competent, professional and operates with integrity. The new Property Manager (Chris Crowell) is excellent! Other changes and additions also include a new Reservations Manager, Owner Relations person, Accounting Manager and others, which are all a positive improvement. Doing business is really about the people involved and the new team at Sotheby’s is very much improved. I recommend you stop in and meet them and give them a chance to serve your needs and judge for yourself. I think you will find that they will go the extra mile to exceed your expectations! -Keith

  My husband and I traveled to San Pedro from Colorado in March to begin looking for an investment/rental property. We worked with Kristin ahead of time so that she understood what we were looking for. Before we arrived, Kristin sent us an itinerary that included a list of the homes she thought we should see. We spent the next few days house hunting and getting a personal tour of the island, including its great restaurants. It didn’t take long for us to narrow down the search and find the perfect place for our needs. Kristin’s experience and guidance made the prospect of buying property in a foreign country far less scary. Because of Sotheby’s relationships with various businesses and developers on the island, as well as on the mainland, she provided an enormous amount of information and answered all of our questions. She was also able to recommend a Belize lawyer that was experienced with sales to foreign buyers. Since the new management at Sotheby’s has such a strong reputation on the island, they also happened to be the selling agent. That combination provided us with a huge amount of comfort. We highly recommend Sotheby’s San Pedro and Kristin Fisher.

  The previous team that represented the Sotheby's brand in San Pedro, Belize was unfortunately a very poor operation. I am very thankful about the recent changes that they have made and the new team that is involved. I have many friends that own villas that are property managed by the new team and they are beyond happy to have the new leadership that Chris Crowell, Kristin Fisher, Holly Boren, and Matt Lyon have put together. It is an absolute shame that the Sotheby's brand has these reviews on google. I am so happy to know that moving forward the new team is extremely professional, caring, and top notch. Please call them, email them, and walk into their office to meet them face to face. The team is 100% licensed and some of the most genuine folks in town! Please stop in and meet these amazing people. Tell them Chef DAT sent you and you might just meet your new best friends!

  Our visit to the Belize Island Beach House on San Pedro Island was for 5 days & 4 nights from the date range of June 7-11, 2016. Our group was comprised of 10 adults & 2 children ages 3 & 5. Day 1: While brushing our teeth before bed, we found out that the downstairs shared bathroom sink was clogged & slowly draining. Day 2: Started day off with very low water pressure. We let Walter (caretaker) know about the issue in the morning & he went around back, turned some valves, & returned the pressure back to normal. While cooking dinner we discovered the oven & dishwasher did not work. Day 3: Noticed a yellowish discoloration in the water and again low water pressure. Informed Walter of the issue and departed for a snorkeling excursion. Day 4: Again discolored yellowish water & this time a stench accompanied it. I contacted the property manager, Brittany to inform her of the situation. She stated that she would call out her mechanic, Eric to see if there was something he could repair. Walter comes knocking on the door & he walks me over to 3 empty above ground water tanks. He then shows me the 2 underground cisterns in the guest house, both empty & the last underground cistern, which is what the house is currently drawing from, & it is full of the same brownish foul filth that is running through the house. I sternly inform Brittany, "I have seen all the empty tanks and all the empty cisterns. There is nothing here to fix. The problem is there is no water except the nasty sewage water we are drawing from now.” Around 10:30pm I can hear a truck pulling up. I think to myself, “Finally!” and return to sleep with aspirations of a shower & decent toiletry conditions in the morning. Day 5: Filth pouring out of the sink. Chris (logistics man) is scheduled to pick us up at 10:00am to head back to the airport. Not knowing what to do next, I let my group know that I cannot reach anyone, Walter is nowhere to be found & Brittany is not picking up. Left with no other choice, we begin rationing our drinking water for toiletry purposes and relieving ourselves in the foliage around the property. 7:15am Brittany returns my call & informs me that the water was delivered last night & that Chris will arrive early to help. He arrives at 10:00am. No one has showered and everyone is pissed. All the girls in the taxi took turns lashing out at him. Chris stated "Sorry about that, but that is not my responsibility. We did get water delivered & ready for the next group."
