  I had a wonderful experience at the Ellysian hotel. It was a very slow time of the year in Placencia when I stayed and they made every accommodation possible for me. The location is simply unbeatable and is walkable to everything. We tried almost every restaurant in Placencia and their rooftop restaurant was the best we had. The pool bar that they have open serves outstanding drinks and the bartender there was lovely to us and very talented. With a gorgeous pool and direct beach access, it was everything we could ask for. Our room was solid- and it was nice to receive hand written notes everyday with a view of the water. I highly recommend staying here.

  Starting with the positives, we had a great time and if I go back to the area, might consider repeating the stay. The location is great, the staff is super nice, always helpful (maybe because we were the only guests), the restaurant is quite good (although there’s always something not available), and the cocktails are excellent. Now, for the price the property needs some care.. The rooms are basic and dust was visible all over the to room, including on the shower head), the access to the restaurant from the rooms (specially if you’re in the back) is not good and the doors often don’t open and it’s clear that it’s a home made solution. Make sure to use shoes when walking on the pool deck, otherwise there’s high chance to get splinters. The kayaks are available, but some parts are way due for replacement (the seats beeping the most important).

  Found this amazing hotel by chance on a recent trip to Placencia, Belize. Hands down this place is amazing. Clean, spacious rooms and amenities are top notch. A footstep away from boardwalk and pier. Sharett ( hope this spelling is right)made our stay so comfortable that we ended staying 3 nights instead of one. Thank you, thank you. Will be back.

  We just stayed there over night after a week on the Catamaran. We wish we did more! Such a relaxing environment. Our dinner was absolutely amazing and the service was top notch. From the operations manager down the service was exceptional! Our room facing the beach was beautiful but when we saw a pool bar outside our room that offered us "welcome drinks" it made it even better. Taking photos I lost my water bottle and they recovered it and upon departure we left a bottle we could not pack but they actually called the airline for us to see if we forgot it. A ride in the morning was a nice and detailed touch they know we needed. We would definitely stay here again. Very comfortable, and clean. Roof top bar is epic!

  We picked this establishment by chance, our first time in country. Needless to say, we were utterly impressed by the service, amazing staff, fantastic food and drinks, and great comfortable rooms. It was my wife's birthday and wanted to make sure it was special for her. The staff did not disappoint. From the restaurant manager Hamilton arranging a room service cake, to the amazing Vanessa behind the bar whipping up the best old fashions, to Domingo at the pool side bar serving fantastic drinks. The front desk made our trip utterly convenient by arranging our tours and taxis. Cannot express our gratitude enough to this amazing team and wonderful people. We will be back soon, thank you so much for making us feel so special. The daily hand written notes to us really made each day. Book this place!
