  Beautiful location, lovely staff, Cardinal our dive master was fantastic, he took us to the best spots, pointed out a lot of amazing life. We had such a great time! The food was also delicious :)

  Wow, what a special experience! This was the most beautiful little pearl island I’ve been to, surrounded by incredible snorkelling right on your doorstep. We saw different types of manta rays, lobster, squid and soo many colourful fish. At Paradise itself, we received the warmest welcome from Doreen and her team - they were honestly some of the friendliest, most genuine hotel staff I’ve come across. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were delicious and they would announce meals by blowing through a conch shell which I found a really charming touch. The other 8-10 guests were really lovely and each meal was a communal affair - we would all sit together comparing what we had seen on our snorkel/dive trips each day, with the sea lapping at the shore right by us. The room & bathroom was simple but well equipped and spacious. There’s a full time engineer on site in case anything breaks (the saltwater eats everything in its path!)

  It was a great experience. The chefs were very good and they even shared recipes with me on a few items - thank you, Laverne! Rugged was so great at making sure we had what we needed for kayak gear and that the lounge chairs were in the perfect spot all the time. Dorene was kind in answering and helping each guest with questions and other bookings. When we ended our kayaking, Anotnio was great at getting us a spot to pitch our tent and welcomed us to coffee in the morning. He also helped us booked a taxi to the airport.

  This island is a pearl of nature and very well located on the reef. The island used to be a local village and later a backpacker island, today, it is almost completely a tourist island. Nowadays, the island is still very laid back and privately owned by mostly foreign owners who milk every dollar out of it. If it weren't for the locals and the naval station, the island would be stripped of its soul and heart. If you're a backpacker looking for a campsite, you won't find it at the resorts of Reefs End, Tobacco Paradise, Windwards etc. We recommend that you ask at Mr Gill's Cove. You are still welcome there with your tent or hammock. We recommend Tobacco Paradise as a resort for overnight stays in cabins directly on the beach. Great staff, good value for money and top sea kayaks. However, the most important place and a hidden gem on this island is as mentioned the marine centre and its friendly scientists (Serena and Vejay). Don't forget that all the tourism of the resorts would not survive without the beautiful nature of the reef & island. Only NGOs like Marine Station preserve this extraordinary nature. It is my impression that the support of the hotels and tourism should be much more !!! Please contact the resorts, unfortunately their cleaning activities stop at the front door. Thank you very much !!

  Our family LOVED our 2 night stay at Tobacco Caye Paradise. The staff are so friendly, helpful, and delicious cooks. We felt like family was hosting us. The accommodations are BASIC (no AC, wood floors/walls, simple furnishings, solar electricity). As long as you are aware of this and ok with this type of accommodation you will be fine. Our family loved the overwater bungalow, we loved sitting on the porch and watching the sea life and sunsets, and we loved the simplicity of the island. We did snorkeling and many island walks. We saw so many beautiful eagle rays and enjoyed the beach bar at the snorkel spot. We didn’t do any of the organized excursions as we really wanted to have chill time. We can’t wait to return.
